Seeds & Plants

Zucca

Enough can't be said about this surprising plant! A very productive gourd that is a wonderful substitute for zucchini. A favorite here at our place for sure. It can be fried, baked and shredded. It can be used in breads and cakes. It has also lasted, once it's picked, for a longer storage option. Acclimated to our West Texas growing conditions. 10 seeds

Item#SP101 - 10 seeds $4/pkt

Calendula (Mixed)

This hardy medicinal herb is in the same family as the chrysanthemum and sports daisy-like flowers that are packed with vitamins and potent medicinal benefits. Calendula can be used to flavor foods or to make dyes. Plus, it makes a great companion plant!

We planted it near our tomatoes and peppers this year. It brought in lots of pollinators for us.

Seed Kits

Our homestead-loving kids are putting together customized seed kits for you to start at your own home.
Starting your own seeds can be an enjoyable experience for adults and kids. Here at our homestead we have been starting seeds for many years. We started seeds before the kids were born and, as they are growing up, they are right alongside of us starting seeds and choosing their own seeds that they like. It’s always fun to see those first sprouts come up. Then the true rewards start when you can plant them in the ground or container and watch those little seeds become great plants that can bring you food, flowers and much satisfaction.
We would like to pass that experience on by offering a kit where you can start your own seeds. Let us help you by providing a variety of seeds with little effort on your part.
Each kit includes 12 peat pots, seeds, organic soil and directions to start the seeds that you have selected. The soil is a mix of organic potting soil and our special blend that we formulate here on our homestead.
Choose up to 6 different varieties per kit. (There will be enough seeds to plant 2 pots of each variety.)
Give us at least a day’s notice to assemble the kit customized for you. Some varieties are in limited supply.
$15 each kit - Sold Out
